At Thirwood Place, one of the things we’re known for is a maintenance-free lifestyle. Our residents have developed wonderful relationships with our maintenance team. They go out of their way to ensure each resident’s apartment is comfortable and functioning at all times.

It’s always nice to see how complimentary residents are about their work. One of the team, Steve, is known for hanging wall art and ornaments. Yesterday, he mentioned that he was able to work on a really fun gallery wall for one of our newer residents, Mrs. Carole Singer. Carole was happy to let our Marketing Coordinator Erin Nelligan come to her apartment to see the beautiful work Steve had done. Erin had no idea of the incredible story she was in for. Although, Carole did warn her that what was hanging wasn’t technically art.

Wall art display with framed seashells, blue fish print, two mermaid decorations, and a sand dollar creates a charming Cape Cod-inspired look.

Entering Carole’s apartment, you’re welcomed by her adorable cat, Smokey, and her beautiful shells. All from different beaches on Cape Cod, they are elegantly organized on frames that she’s kept over time, and are almost too beautiful to be real. From the oyster shells of famous Wellfleet oysters to the clams she gathered during her clamming adventures in Chatham, you could see the joy in Carole’s eyes as she described the significance of each hanging item.

How lucky are we at Thirwood Place, to have residents like Carole who are willing to share their stories!
